MagnaStack
Developed for emergency vehicles with vertical exhaust stacks. For emergency vehicles that back into the fire station and drive out the same door. The extraction unit automatically hooks to the vertical stack when the vehicle is backed into the fire station. A suction trolley adjusts its position to where the vehicle is and locks on to the stack by an electromagnet. Power to electromagnet is automatically switched off at the disconnection plate allowing the exhaust stack to exit the suction carriage.
Upon vehicle’s return to quarters and as it proceeds to back into its stall, the exhaust fan will automatically start via an automatic remote transmitter attached to the vehicle (no button required to be pushed) prior to the vehicle reaching the door threshold. This enables the extraction system to capture fumes prior to being hooked up. As the stack reaches the self aligning extraction trolley unit, the stack will slide into and be retained by a low force electromagnet. The vehicle can now back into its designated parking position. Upon emergency dispatch, the exhaust fan will automatically start and be running at full rpm prior to the vehicle engine being energized by the remote transmitter. As the vehicle proceeds to exit quarters, the extraction trolley and hose will travel along an overhead track to a predetermined point where the electromagnet will automatically release and allow the stack to slide out of the extractor unencumbered. The extractor will be held in place at the door via a passive magnet to allow for easy hookup upon vehicle return to the station. The exhaust fan will automatically shut down after a preset amount of time via an electronic timer to purge the system of contaminants. In addition to handling response calls, the vehicle exhaust system is capable of handling pump/load tests as required on a daily basis for a time period of up to 15 minutes. |
