Insulation Removal
Whether you are remodeling, re-insulating or upgrading or have damaged, wet or contaminated insulation, we can take care of your insulation removal job for you! Proper insulation removal is essential to effectively insulate the home while maintaining a healthy indoor air quality. At Clean Air Systems, we have the equipment and tools to remove insulation in a safe, efficient manner. Some reasons insulation removal is needed are as follows:
Fire Damaged, wet or contaminated insulation – Water, roofing materials, rodents, birds, mold and other pollutants can find their way into the attic. These things can nest in the layers of insulation and are a potential health risk for your family. It is important to remove these contaminants from the home but it is just as important to remove these things from the home without further contaminating the living area of your home.
Over Insulation – Heavy layers of insulation in the attic can restrict the airflow and ventilation of your home. This can lead to moisture problems, especially in the upper floors, potentially leading to heat loss, material damage and sometimes the development of molds and other hazards.
Re-Insulating or upgrading – Upgrading the insulation in your home can be a worthwhile investment in your home’s value and reduction of your energy costs. Household insulation is far more efficient today than the insulation that was commonly used only 10 years ago. Before re-insulating your home, it is necessary to remove the old insulation. Bagging and dragging old insulation through the living space of a house is NOT a safe method of removing insulation. This results in the release of airborne fiberglass particles and any other contaminants that were in your attic. Likewise it is unsafe to simply add new insulation over the old insulation. The old insulation will compromise the effectiveness of the new insulation and any contaminants, pests or mold/moisture problems will persist. Having your old insulation removed by a professional is the best way to ensure that the material is handled safely and your new insulation is most effective.
